Bridgemedica, LLC (www.bridgemedica.com), a company providing high value innovative concept-to-market services in design, development engineering, sourcing, assembly and distribution of innovative new medical devices, announced today that it has created the position Director of Technology Assessment and has hired Paul DiCarlo a seasoned medical device veteran to fill that role.
The creation of this position expands the company capabilities beyond standard development and manufacturing. In this role Mr. DiCarlo will work closely with clients to assess their Intellectual Property positions developing an overall technology strategy by evaluating both areas of vulnerability and opportunity resulting in tactical steps to protect and possibly expand the client’s existing technology portfolio. Before joining Bridgemedica DiCarlo has accumulated 21 years in the medical device industry with the last seven (7) years spent assessing technologies and leveraging what he discovered into numerous business opportunities in various groups within the endosurgery business unit of Boston Scientific. DiCarlo exploited technologies in a variety of areas including vascular, vascular access, biopsy, oncology, RF ablation, urology, gynecology and endoscopy. DiCarlo has accumulated 33 issued US patents and has 49 US patents pending. Mr. DiCarlo received his Bachelors of Technology degree in electromechanical computer technology from the New York Institute of Technology.
